I feel sorry for you and i know it is normal for you to feel you have
some kind of responsibility.... as things get so complicated and difficult
when we are accused of ethic discrimination. However, i think you have
the right to tell your student that he/she should not expect you to understand
all his/her culture codes since you are from Taiwan.. or it will he/she
doesn't respect your culture difference.
