Capital punishment is an essential tool for deterring and punishing those who
would commit the most heinous crimes and acts of lethal violence against
American citizens.
死刑是威懾和懲罰那些對美國公民犯下最令人髮指的罪行和致命暴力行為的人的重要手段
。
Our Founders knew well that only capital punishment can bring justice and
restore order in response to such evil.
我們的建國先賢深知，只有死刑才能伸張正義，才能恢復秩序，面對如此邪惡。
Federal jurisdiction and seek the death penalty regardless of other factors
for every federal capital crime involving:
(i) The murder of a law-enforcement officer; or
(ii) A capital crime committed by an alien illegally present in this country.
司法部長還應對涉及以下事項的每一項聯邦死罪判處死刑，而不考慮其他因素：
(i) 謀殺執法人員；或者(ii) 非法居住在該國的外國人所犯的死罪。
