You may soon get the recognition you deserve, and hopefully the rewards too, for a considerable chunk of work you did in the past. You may have written this off and forgot about it because it has been so long. It was probably quite disappointing at the time because you really poured your heart and soul into it and got nothing in return - except the pride that came with trying. The idea that this may finally score you accolades or even bear some tangible rewards for you may be almost unbelievable, but you need to believe it and be aware of it so that you don't miss the chance to bask in the glow of your achievement.
