He has to know how much coffee to order, how many eggs he will need, how many napkins to purchase for each day, and so on. Ordering too much of something could result in waste and lost income. Ordering too few of something could result in displeased customers, which certainly wouldn't business. Your life in general must be accounted for in a similar way.
