Even though you are cynical enough to believe that forgiveness is overrated and accomplishes nothing, there may be someone you really need to forgive. This person has made a mistake that angers you, and that you may keep replaying over and over again in your mind. Each time you think of what this person has done to hurt you, you get riled up again. That person is you. There is something you will not forgive yourself for, but it's a waste of your energy. If you could forgive yourself, you could learn from it and then let it go.
