You may be relying on someone else's opinion of another individual to form
an opinion of your own. Someone who is new in your social life may be
quirky and hard to understand, but their reputation may precede them. Yet
what you learn through a friend or acquaintance - even if it is someone
you trust - might not be accurate. If that person's opinion is negative,
you could just miss out on getting to know a very unique character. You
are encouraged to avoid forming an opinion about someone new without
taking the time to get to know them.
你也許會依賴別人對某個人的想法來形塑你自己的看法。你在社交生活中新認識的某
個人可能既古怪又難以理解，不過他的名聲或許比他的個性還要來得好。可是你透過
朋友或認識的人所得知的—即便你信任這個人—也有可能不是完全正確的。如果那個
人的想法是負面的，那你也許會錯過認識一個非常獨特的人的機會。你被鼓勵要避免
在沒有花時間認識新朋友的情況下，就形塑出對他的看法。
