I can share my opinion about English learning with you.. After gaining my diploma in Hong Kong, I have been working here for around a year. I am in charge of communication and risk control for a department; thus, contacting people from different continents and countries either by email or phone is one of my routine tasks. What language do we communicate in? English (Some colleagues sometimes use their mother tongue like French, Spanish or Portuguese... that really sucks= =) My suggestion for you is, don't take English as a boring subject or shortcut to wealth. Take it as a link with the world! Especially after entering the university, you must be able to communicate the knowledge of your profession with other in a proficient English! That will become an advantage for you when persuing your career. For example, I was majoring in accountancy and IT-related discipline. When we discussed about financial issue in English using the accounting terms, those people graduating from college of Literature understood nothing from me... and vice versa.
