eren't treated all that well. But closing yourself off because you don't want
it to happen again isn't the answer. When you close yourself off, you may keep
possible sorrow at bay, but you also keep out the potential for meaningful co
nnections. You don't have to jump into anything quickly, but don't give up on
having joy in your life by creating an emotional barricade.
