Holding onto a grudge is a lot like refusing to put the trash cans down by the curb for the garbage truck to remove. It will sit there and stink for a good long time, and of course you'd never do that! A grudge often develops because of a betrayal or hurt feelings, but it has no value, and you don't have to keep it. That does not necessarily mean you have to forgive or forget, dear Moonchild. It simply means you can choose not to let it weigh you down anymore. That's what you have to do with a grudge holding you back.
