In a mode of desperation, you may be comparing your situation to something it only slightly resembled in the past. You can compare and contrast because certain points measure up, and maybe that gives you a temporary sense of comfort. But in the long run, these two situations are not the same, and using what worked for one on the other will not make a lot of sense when it comes down to it. Don't get frustrated. Be observant. Be patient with yourself.
